Countermovement Jump

How to do it

  1. Stand tall with the feet about hip-width apart and the arms at your sides.
  2. Quickly dip the hips and knees a short way, swinging the arms back.
  3. Without pausing, jump as high as you can, extending the hips, knees, and ankles and swinging the arms up.
  4. Land softly on both feet, absorbing with the hips and knees.
  5. Reset to a tall stand between jumps. This is a single max-effort jump, not a repeated jump squat.
