Incline Y-Raise
Shoulders · Traps · Dumbbell
How to do it
- Set an adjustable bench to a 30 to 45 degree incline. Lie face down on the bench with a light dumbbell in each hand, arms hanging straight down toward the floor.
- Let your shoulder blades relax and round slightly forward. This is your starting position.
- With a slight bend in the elbows and thumbs pointing up, raise both arms up and out in front of you at roughly a 30 degree angle from your head, tracing the shape of a letter Y.
- Continue until your arms are in line with your ears, leading the movement by squeezing your shoulder blades down and together.
- Pause briefly at the top, then slowly lower the dumbbells back to the starting position.
- Repeat for the recommended number of repetitions.
