Single-Leg Balance Hold
Calves · Abdominals · Quadriceps · Hamstrings · Bodyweight
How to do it
- Stand barefoot on a firm floor with the feet hip-width apart and the arms relaxed at the sides.
- Shift the weight onto one foot and lift the other foot until that thigh is about hip height.
- Keep the knee of the standing leg soft, not locked, and hold the hips level.
- Let the ankle and the foot make small corrections. Look at one fixed point ahead.
- Hold for the target time, then put the foot down and repeat on the other side.
- To make it harder, close the eyes or stand on a folded towel.
