Squat to Stand

Hamstrings · Hip flexors · Lower back · Calves · Bodyweight

How to do it

  1. Stand with the feet about shoulder-width apart and hinge at the hips to reach down and hold your toes or the fronts of your shoes.
  2. Keep a light hold on the toes as you drop the hips into a deep squat.
  3. Lift the chest and press the elbows inside the knees, keeping the heels down if you can.
  4. From the deep squat, straighten the legs and return to a standing hinge while you keep holding the toes.
  5. Move slowly between the squat and the stand for the set reps. This is an unloaded mobility drill, not a loaded squat.
