Standing Cable Hip Abduction
Abductors · Glutes · Cable

How to do it
- Attach an ankle cuff to a low pulley and fasten it around the ankle furthest from the machine.
- Stand side-on to the machine and step away until the cable is taut, letting the strapped leg cross slightly in front of the standing leg.
- Hold the machine frame or a fixed support with the near hand for balance, and stand tall on the near leg.
- Keeping the strapped leg straight, sweep it out to the side, leading with the heel, against the cable's pull.
- Pause briefly at the top of the movement, feeling the contraction on the outside of the hip.
- Lower the leg back across the body under control, resisting the cable the whole way.
- Complete all reps, then turn around and repeat on the other leg.
