Standing Figure-4 Stretch

Glutes · Abductors · Hip flexors · Bodyweight

How to do it

  1. Stand tall, feet hip-width apart, holding a wall or support if needed for balance.
  2. Shift weight onto one foot and cross the opposite ankle over that thigh, just above the knee, foot flexed.
  3. Keep the torso tall and chest lifted.
  4. Press the hips back and bend the standing knee, lowering into a partial squat until a stretch is felt in the crossed leg's hip and glute.
  5. Hold for the set time.
  6. Stand back up and switch sides.
